Buy A Brick Campaign
We are raising money to furnish the interior of the new library and to enhance and expand programs and services offered by the library to the community.
This is a unique opportunity for the community to show their support of our new library by purchasing a personalized, engraved brick.
Not only will you be able to help us "Raise the Roof on Literacy" in Mount Kisco, but you can leave a permanent family legacy in our community.
The Examiner News, May 4, 2010
The Foundation for the Mount Kisco Public Library is offering specially-priced engraved, four-by-eight inch engraved "Centennial Bricks" for $100 to encourage more sales and to help buy down the contruction cost of the new library building which opened last year.
The engraved bricks will be installed in learning and handicap-accessible therapy gardens surrounding the children's reading room. Construction of the first phase of this installation, the return of the former library building's butterfly garden, is scheduled to begin by the end of April. It will be underwritten entirely by private donations.
Tax-deductible Centennial Bricks can bear an engraved message of up to 84 characters and spaces. Bricks that already sold for $250 will be upgraded in size to eight-by-eight inches and existing donors have been offered the option of adding a lengthier message of up to 168 characters and spaces.
The foundation will continue to make this larger brick size available to new donors to the Buy-A-Brick fundraising campaign. Bricks can be purchased online here at the foundation's website, at the library, located at 100 E. Main St. or by calling 914-666-2118.
Engraved on your custom brick could be:
- your family name
- your children's names
- a beloved pet's name
- your company or organization's name
- commemorating a special occasion
- in memorial of a loved one
- an inspirational message for the new library
